Anti Ragging & RTI

Anti-Ragging and Right to Information (RTI) are two important initiatives that are implemented in colleges and universities in India.

Anti-Ragging: Ragging refers to any act that causes mental or physical harassment, or discomfort to new students in educational institutions. Ragging is strictly prohibited by law, and all colleges and universities are required to implement anti-ragging measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students. As a part of the anti-ragging initiative, colleges conduct awareness programs and counseling sessions for students and staff, and also have a mechanism in place to handle any complaints related to ragging

Right to Information (RTI): RTI is a powerful tool that empowers citizens to seek information from public authorities on matters of public interest. As a part of the RTI initiative, colleges and universities have to appoint Public Information Officers (PIOs) to provide information to the public. Students and faculty members can use the RTI to seek information on various aspects of the college or university, such as academic programs, admission procedures, infrastructure, and finances.

Both anti-ragging and RTI initiatives play a crucial role in ensuring transparency and accountability in educational institutions. By implementing these initiatives, colleges and universities can provide a safe and secure learning environment for students, and also foster a culture of transparency and accountability.
